They give me easy work. Making the road more difficult. It is convenient to give a final touch to all the efforts made by the neighbor, when the road is polished. How easy it is to start a conversation with the word “thank you.” In this tone, I've talked to the head of the public library of Gares, Eva. We just signed up for ARGIA.
It's a question I ask of all new subscribers, but why ARGIA? Each one brings very personal arguments, as many as people. As a public library, in this case it is not a personal option, but an intention to give the people the fullest possible service. Eva responds: “The public library must guarantee linguistic rights and the purchase of books, magazines and materials in Basque can gradually make its way towards this normalization.” The library aims to offer the people of Puente la Reina, in Euskera, information about the current situation; “to satisfy the native Vasco-speakers and offer the Euskaldunberris other possibilities to learn and enjoy the language”.
ARGIA is doing special work in the public libraries of Hego Euskal Herria with a clear objective: to ensure the presence of the Basque media in all possible public spaces. That is the result of this new subscription, and we intend to continue along these lines.
When asked whether there is another newspaper or magazine in Euskera, Eva has taken the opportunity to tell a nice story. Every day you have a Berria newspaper on the shelf (“and hear! Also the magazine,” he emphasizes). It is the result of a phone call from a friend of Pamplona: Did you not tell her that she subscribed to the news, that she could not receive it and read it over the course of the week and that she wanted to give her a gift? I have just read that militancy is running out there, that we are increasingly selfish, that solidarity is going to be broken... If this gesture from the friend to the people of Gares is not militancy, solidarity and care, you will tell me what it is.
It's a pleasure to bring this kind of treasure together to ARGIA.
