The Spirit of Balerdi Balerdi
The Balerdi Balerdi group has made a very nice album. In the songs you can hear nice melodies, rhythms and sounds of rock, and pop and country air. It's the Balerdi Balerdi forever, but with a new suit.
The sound technician Iñigo Irazoki has been in charge of recording the recordings and have also had the following friends: Beñardo Goietxe (choirs), Julen Leuza (wind arrangements, trumpet and thrombone) and Ion Oses (trumpet). The cover author is Joseba Beramendi Exprai, who has had the help of the writer Pello Lizarralde to write the letters, who has written the three songs and the rest has been the singer and guitarist of the group Toño Muro.
The title summarizes the content very well, as in the songs, in general, they are spoken with irony, as usual. Also Samur (in the snow) and the two deceased friends remembered in the song Izar two of them, along with Josetxo Taleza and Marco Antonio Sanz de Acedo. The first played in the teams of Tension and The Bugs, and the second played in the teams of Tijuana in Blue and Kojon Prieto and the Huajalotes.
Balerdi Balerdi's fifth album is the method to learn how to lose. This is her previous work: Balerdi Balerdi (1991), ten-inch vinyl disc, and Ez gara gal (1994), better once gorri ezenez beti hori (1997) and Hegoko lautada ertzean (2012).
Although some musicians have changed throughout their career, Toño Muro (voice and guitar) and Sergio Ibarrola Zara (drums, percussion and choirs) are still on the starting line. For three years they have played with two friends from Bera: Petti (guitar and vocals) and Anxel Iraola (bass).
The team, as always, works with desire and joy, and continues to convey joy. The spirit of Balerdi Balerdi is maintained, and Petti’s contribution is remarkable, a touch more, because it gives more rock to songs and more strength.
The fourteen songs on the new album are the ones that have composed and adapted in recent years, a sort of summary of what they have done in recent years.
