The list of those lists itself has nothing to exclude: things that speed up our heartbeat, things that can't be compared, things that make us feel dirty, things that move, things that should be thin, things that have lost power, things that make us want to see or hear, things that are nearby that are far away, things that are rare...
Some of these last examples of weird things are the praise of the mother-in-law and the appreciation of the daughter-in-law for the mother-in-law, a servant who does not speak badly about the boss, a person without distinction.
The list of things we're ashamed of makes it clear that there are things that haven't changed anything in a thousand years: talking about someone without realizing that they can listen to us; parents, believing that their ugly child is friendly, repeating everything the child says, imitating their voice; a man recites his poems that are not particularly good, and speaks of his praise.
In addition, the courtier gathered beautiful objects on another list: to wear a white coat on a purple vest; a plain syrup mixed with ice and served in a new silver mug; ducks eggs; flower glycine; snow-covered plum flowers; a beautiful child eating strawberries.
Other strips of the pillow book are more complicated, such as things that, despite their glorious past, today are useless: a poorly seen painter; garden trees of a house lovingly built after destroying the fires; a pool that nobody cares about and has a thick layer of algae.
Finally, a beautiful list of poets from the Six Shonagon, things of silence that have music: the series of bell flowers freshly washed by the rain; the tiny wooden boxes; the woman who writes a sonata near the river to whom she dreams, throw the snow out loud; the birds' cemeteries; the smoke in the incense stick. And finally, the death of the magnolia. In these magnolias, in the hours when light is amber, you can see a group of women dancing the pavilion.
