Back and forth in time
Not all trips are the same and there are some that leave a special mark on you. This is what the enigmatic group Zingira de Oñati offers him: I say it mysterious, because it leads us to songs that rock cultivated in the past, to virtuosity, to ornaments and to the creation of environments that culminated in its splendor. It seems that we've stepped back notoriously in time, bringing those landscapes, but it's not, and it also has today. In fact, it is not usual that when reflecting on a trip, the past is confused with the contemporary, or that the concept of passage and duration of time is abandoned, or that they are transported in the luggage mellotron, hammond and bells. All this has been done by this project created, developed and carried out by one person.
Nature is the mirror that is always present in this caring self-produced album and that accompanies us in this episode of life. Hostoak, responsible for the dissemination of the album, will invite you to take steps with a new cover, Camel, pop, space synthesizers and a rhythm similar to that of The Troop in the late 1970s. In Amildegi, which has repentance and passing by the shore, it will take you with the help of the keyboards to the passage of a progressive hard and contemporary. The traveler awaits us at the other end of the tunnel and welcomes us in a folk suit of pronounced melody, although as it isolates us along the way we will be surrounded by dark clouds. The wind from the north has come to stay and, aware of this, both the synthesizers and the distant flamenco welcome you. We will make an instrumental stop at the incomparable point of the district of Araotz de Oñati, to impregnate with the magic of Sandaili; to this end, it is enough to join the akelarre Jethro Tull, the Basque folk, jazz and flamenco around the fire of the synth. After these six brilliant and majestic songs, we will find only one person: Oñatiarra Iñigo Ibarrondo, who was the vocalist and bassist of the group Sharon Stoner, a pioneer in the Basque Country and a long-standing teacher. Taking advantage of a long stop of Sharon, Ibarrondo on his own, with mime, open and insatiable creativity, has stitched the elaborate structures of these pieces. He has recorded practically all the instruments, mixed them and produced the album, although in the last step, the Egoitz Olalde battery, of the band Sharon Stoner, and the guitarist Mikel Zarketa have collaborated in the recording.
