Go ahead, without fear
The Altxatu group from Lumbier advances disc to disc. It has been inspired by the Japanese legend of a bird that is not afraid to nest on the highest tree and that, like the bird of legend, has created without fear of new challenges.
They keep playing punk rock rhythms, but with their touch, with their strength, with their strength, and they also make pretty melodies, like Berriz Kanta. Playing with tuning they have searched for new sounds, and in addition to guitar, bass and drums, they have also used the bombardment and tuba in the song Biharko bide, which gives a good end to the album.
Of the eleven themes that can be heard on the album, ten are from Altxatu and the eleventh is the version of Ez dut nahi, which Julen Lekuona wrote in 1983. This song sings Gorka Armendariz, a member of Leihotikan, along with members of the Altxatu group. In another song, Garaipen krudela, Silvia Hibakusha.Para completed the song of innocence, adapted the story of Eduardo Galeano The emperor (“The emperor ordered the innocent advisor to be hanged, was the first of a long list, merging the innocent, achieved respect”).
In the songs, in general, they make a criticism and a denunciation, and they talk about their concerns and dreams: “What is solidarity today? What is fraternity today? Values have lost meaning” (Cruel victory), “We will defend the woman free before the woman prepares dinner” (Hypocrisy), “Without time to go back, we have before us the road of tomorrow, beating the wings like birds, we start a new journey” (Morning).
Also about relationships, feelings and love: “Sing here, slowly, how beautiful you are” (Again), “Today I don’t want to ask too much, I settle for little, give me an hour, the other half I will take the next day” (Hour and a half).
Iker Ariz, Julen Abaurrea and Ibai Osinaga, members of the Altxatu group, are 18 years old and have already made three albums – the previous two are Altxatu (2013) and Hitza (2014). The songs of his new work show maturity, but without losing the freshness, and they continue to play with ease, without shame and with desire.
