Advocates of basic income always have to face the fear of laziness. Would the person with guaranteed existence work? Or is the idle day passed? On the island of Utopia, at Thomas Morus, there is no such possibility, but there is also regulated work and work. There is no freedom. In utopia, there is no one who does nothing. If my search is correct, Morus uses the word Otiose. There is no free space in Utopia. It was considered an enemy of his soul to have done nothing seemingly. Many mix leisure with laziness. In German a word of excellent sound is used: Müßiggang. Müßiggang is, according to a saying, the principle of all evil or vice. Kafka said it was the beginning of all evil and the height of all virtue. And Kafta wasn't lazy.
