We are never of a single nature. Who are you? What are you? Woman or man? Or neither water nor wine? In the morning, a math teacher, do you still learn English in the afternoon? Are you one of those who buys at Eroski and sells at Wallapop? A young man? Adult child? Basque living in Spanish? Are you always one? Always the same? How many characters have you migrated from? How many realities? How many times have you claimed your right to return? Are you stagnant or detached water?

If there are people without normality… But there are no. All normativities are petty and selfish. Heteronormativity imposed a dichotomy on us in childhood: an honest and humble girl, a brave and proud boy. Then it was admitted that there were honest and courageous men of women. Nothing else. The rest was invisible, impossible.

I would like to make the point here that those who are outside the normal range have been invisible. They have the right to the word and the image, I, we all have it. Because personality takes different, diffuse, transitory, contradictory forms. Because identity is not imposed, it is not sold, it is not bought.

Transsexual. It's the one with a name. Jon or Jone. As before the name was put on the church stack, today television gives the name and being to a newborn adult: Nora, Izaro, Ares… They speak on their behalf, free and liberated.

Nahiane is a beautiful name. The name of a child.

The rights of minors do not depend on the will of the parents, nor on the strategies for raising the audience of the media, much less in the service of communication marketing.

It's easy for a very fluent minor who says he wants to be transsexual to increase the number of viewers. When we hear a 40-year-old transsexual who suffered quietly in her childhood, the solution cannot be for the child to sit on the television set.

Listening to the words of some parents of transsexual minors, I feel a chilly feeling: the skirts and the clothing of princesses, the toys, and the length of hair to explain the identity frustration of the child. Chills are the eleventh perverse consequence of heteronormativity.

But it is true that when gender dysphoria – suffering from sex – is untenable, something must be done. It is true that sexual identity should not be patented, but I am convinced that gender units in public hospitals have a broader view than some parents I have heard on television and no whim decisions are made. When we continue to tell stories to children, there are no changes that guarantee their happiness. The name and condition of a child at stake.
