Have you never stayed, reader, without knowing very well what to say in a situation, because we know that they are infringing your rights but many times we do not really know how we should respond in this case? Each comes with a very different moment and another, but I think we all identify this experience. We are often unaware that our rights are being violated.
A new section will be launched next week in ARGIA: Eider Madina Berasategi and alsasua Eñaut Agirrebengoa Apaolaza. This is a monthly section with the aim of denouncing the human rights that have been violated and which, unfortunately, are violated on a daily basis, and of explaining the solutions to them. Without too much enthusiasm to fall into the generalities, these experiences will be counted in the first person; that is, they will bring to paper the story of a person who will tell us about his personal violation.
Madina faces the series with the right to intimacy of the image, and her first sentence reads as follows: “I am Mari Paz Arrula, Tafallesa, and like 150 other women of all ages, I was recorded in the bathroom of a bar of our people, through the cameras that the owner of the place had put me.” Issues such as the rights of pensioners, immigrants, linguistics, consumers or male violence will be addressed in the coming months.
The authors have chosen to tell a fat subject through each of the small experiences of each branch and have chosen a different way to make the situation behind each specific story visible. Many times we get closer to the reader of personal stories than to giving figures, and we feel closer.
Sometimes, however, there is a need for someone to tell the story and to do so they make an appeal: if in one way or another your rights have been violated and you want to tell it, contact us through the address gizartea@argia.eus.
