“Ours has always been a family that is back from the garden,” explains Arrate Imaz, daughter of Amere Goikoa of Zubieta (Gipuzkoa). He is most responsible for the web that they have just created under the name of Loratu. However, it is clear that he and the new center of the network are part of the family working group. Father and brother. “Before it was a website, my brother worked in the garden and the parents sold the products in the markets of San Sebastian.” Upon learning of the limitations this means of sale could have, Imaz realized that there was another possibility. And Loratu has come pulling that thread.
Open all day and everyone
At market times, just in the morning, a lot of people can't go shopping. Many foreign tourists travelling on the San Sebastian market also asked them for some other way to buy their products. “From there came the proposal to open the web,” Imaz tells us. Each in its field
Although each of the family members works exclusively in their field, mutual support occurs involuntarily: “If the brother has to change the leeks, we go all the family to the garden. The same is true when the father needs help in the market.” The other sister of the family, without having a specific job in that chain, also collaborates in everything.
Asked by Loratu, Imaz says the word “project” is quite large: “The process has been a natural one, it has come out in an involuntary way. Each of us has gone step by step.” It recognizes, however, that the project character is gradually being assumed. We don't realize that often, from our daily activities, we can extract new ideas and flourish small projects.
