The 1990s are seen remotely since today, and there are also distant times when musical styles could be counted with few fingers. Thus, the style of melodic hardcore, which many considered impossible, became known suddenly at that time (can the hardcore be melodic? ). Among them, the Green day, the NOFX, the Offspring and, why not, also Bad religion became well known.
Here, however, the precursor was the Ez Izan group and its concept, very different from those mentioned above. Instead of giving speed and gloss to pop or to very round melodies, the hardcore-punk rhythms and the tightest melodies that they liked until then were stroked by the voice, and they kept the words that punk and hardcore have basically, and the problems and ways of doing, firm, humble and consistent, basically, you do it yourself.
As has been said, the quartet was born in the early 1990s in Donostialdea, the former occupied Buenawixta house and marvels factory, and in 1992 they launched the model – in casset-. After acting in gaztetxes and okupadas houses, in 1995 the No Being Single was published, which spread throughout the Spanish state. The goal of the group has always been to convey messages and enjoy, and at the beginning of the bimillennium the group just got rid of it. But before that, where do we go? They published their long album through Cooperacion Records de Trintxerpe.
As they came, without making noise, as they have always been, the group disappeared. And although they had never met for specific causes, there was none else. But last year three of the participants (Paul, Sani and Jabi Dk) came together, aroused a desire to get back to work together and joined the new bassist Lander. They're about to go on and they've recorded seven songs at the Jomes Hamilton test site (Bap! Anari, La Jodedera...) those who have been wrong and mastered. It is a self-produced CD halfway, humble and unadorned. The Erdibidean piece that gives the album its name has taken me to the punk of northern Europe; Nora goaz? And the well-known walkers have the brand of the group: the cadence of hardcore-punk and Jabi on it singing softly. Dizziness, goodbye, breakthrough and massacre, but rhythm changes, broader voice recordings and nuances have been put on them. And the well-known Spanish Powder to close the play, without moving away from hardcore-punk, collects a much more mysterious tone, perhaps as it did in the recent times of Bap!, and perhaps so that the circle is not closed.
