The old owner of the kiosk Arkupe has retired and passed the witness to the young Joxi, who has turned his back on him. He has taken the new job with great enthusiasm. Barrio Mamariga de Santurtzi, July 2010. It's been six years since Joxi Martin started selling newspapers and books, and for six years he has also had the opportunity to sell ARGIA in his store. Why the LIGHT? we ask him.

The Mamariga is an Euskaldun, Euskaltzale district, and the astekari of Santurtzi says that the weekend enters naturally in that area. In addition, he is a subscriber before he begins the trade and already knows the project. As a ARGIA client, he says that he likes to read interviews and the opinions of those who don't think like him, and that he loves independent journalism; that ARGIA adapts well to the quick news and a calmer space for reflection. In the kiosko Arkupe, Joxi has managed to have a client with an almost weekly reader and a seven-day fidelity to the neighborhood library.

On social media I have jumped with the point of curiosity to find something that will help me take advantage of the advantages of new technologies. The shopkeeper himself has already told me that one of his objectives has been the dissemination of the press in Basque since he took the kiosk. But in addition to the Euskaldun kiosk, I have found an Arkupe that gives importance to social issues, that values critical reading and that with mime chooses the product for trade. There are readings about civil disobedience, about history, environment, feminism ... It has, for example, the feminist magazine Pikara Magazine.
