The People's Commonwealth of Xiberoa has just launched a campaign to promote the use of Euskera. It seems that it has been successful on social media, to a small extent, but with some success, because surely the leaders of Zuberoa do not look at them with eyes as pervasive as those of Gipuzkoa or Bizkaia. At least they have done something and applauded.
Lately, though not so, until recently, I was in the meetings of the Public College, from time to time, working as a journalist. I have never heard a single word in Basque, as most or a large part of the electorate are Euskaldunes. This may have changed since then, but I am sure that the main language remains the other.
Although I have not followed it closely, I can assure you that the will of one or two elects has to start the campaign, that the others – such as the PNV in Parlament – can abstain, but have remained unconvinced. They have not been asked about concentrations in Euskera, so, well, they have not dared. Xiberoa also needs measures to strengthen the Basque country, and doing something is not bad, but it would be better to make political decisions. Let no one say that it is not possible because Uztaritze has taught us yes.
