New support and initiatives are added to popular consultations
- A popular consultation on the Basque State in Barrika, Lemoiz, Urduliz and Sopela, among others, will take place within the programme Ensure Esku Dago. This has been announced by the Uribe Kosta Promoter Association. In addition, they have added that if they want to participate more people in the region have the doors open. The popular consultation will be held on 2 April 2017.
Trade unions, a survey
The first popular consultations will be held on 5 June in Azpeitia, Goierri, Debagoiena, Aramaio and Ispaster. Trade union representatives ELA, LAB, CCOO, UGT, ESK and USO have joined in these consultations: “Dialogue, debate, face, reflect… and in the end ask people because it is normal. Asking is the best way to decide on the issues we have, to solve problems, to organize their own coexistence and to face the challenges of the future.” Being consulted and deciding as a collective “is a perfect exercise for cohesion and responsibility. Because our lives are in our hands,” they said.
Debagoiena, 9,139 signatures
For its part, the Erain Debagoiena association has reported that the 6,500 signatures required for the holding of the consultation have been exceeded and 9,139 have been collected.
