It is known that the Left Margin of Bilbao has had a lot to do with punk and powerful rock, and of them stands out the role that Barakaldo has played in this work. In 2013, Gotzon Hermosilla, an experienced journalist, wrote and published the book Barakaldo revienta (The Secret History of Punk Rock in Barakaldo), reviewing in detail what Barakaldo, a city of size, gave along these musical styles.
They have now taken a further step towards a better understanding of the history and present of this city, plagued by gigantic shopping centres, demolished companies and companies drowned by unemployment; musicians and music lovers have created a collection of records with songs from fifteen musical groups currently in force, where, accompanied by an attractive design, they have explained very clearly the details of each of them and have compiled a record of all of them.
Not all groups, of course. The purpose of the drivers has been to bring together the groups working around the punk rock in the Basque Country. These include long-established groups, the 1980s, which have been stationed for a long time and have returned with renewed forces. It's a sign that rock poison continues to bleed up for a long time. In any case, as in many other towns and cities, in groups and projects, surnames, aliases and in the background are repeated, since rock and punk lovers often form the same family.
Parabellum is Barakaldo's most famous group and his teammate Txetxu is the creator of the album La Kontra, with a song that has a lot of punk, vomit and strong guitars of the year 77. Paniks rara avisa and on the garage-punk path he has honored the great Billy Childish. Fatalena is punk rock-and-roller and reminds Natxo and rocker MCD in her voice. Tiparrakers is a very nice surprise: with imaginative and strong guitars sings up to Morfiren de La Trapera. Putakaska still lives and reminds us of the most melodic punk groups in the 1980s. Radiocrime has a very personal voice and this time it's melodic. The National Audience has a lot of poetry. Porco Bravo is a live punk rock-and-roll who drinks a lot from hard rock. And, of course, there is more: there are Radikal Hardcore, the only one who works hardcore together with Si Te Cah, the mythical Distorsion, whose trans transformation is El Lobo de Armañón, Karretera Agropecuaria, no, paying tribute to the city of Parabellum.
The Barakaldo is fit and anyone who doesn't think he tests it from here.
