Without much rigor, I told the journalists that “we were in the lurch,” when we were talking about the revitalization of the Basque country. And the next day, Anjel Lertxundi asked me -- quite rigorously -- exactly how we were: apathetic humble, decadent or calm. Within a few days, on the same subject, Patxi Baztarrika said that he did not see “stagnation” but “uncertainty”.
Words aloud, the idea has been extended that the rhythms of the regeneration process are being reduced, and that with the mere repetition of the actions that have been taken so far we will not repeat the growth that has taken place. I mean, we're going to need big doses of innovation for the future. What? Here are my priorities.
Research and science. Citizens must be asked about the causes of their linguistic behaviour and apply different sciences to their responses. The binomial research/science will provide the basis for drawing long-term strategies and defining planning based on them. In addition to institutional capacity and social initiative, a third aspect would be added: knowledge, in which forces, functions and complementarities would be balanced.
Local activation. Euskaltzalism has withered as professionalism has increased. I believe it is essential to recover a modern dynamic by neighbourhoods, municipalities and districts that activates and associates Euskaltzales, both the “professionals” (elected, technical or sectoral positions) and the militants (associations of Euskera and social agents).
Update of discourses. It's very important how we explain things and how we argue policies. More than a speech, we need several; consistent with each other, of course, but adapted to different recipients. For example, the mere change of name I took in summer has opened many doors for me, far beyond what I expected.
The political shield. In the new office I am seeing that it is the right time to define a common ground between speakers based on freedom, equality and justice; and that it is possible to open a new era of agreements on that common ground that shields political conflicts from the process of revitalizing the Basque country.
Nothing I said is completely new, let alone the one I invented. But I am convinced that innovation is, first and foremost, an attitude. And that a certain humiliation, stagnation or uncertainty as a gift can bring us all at our disposal to innovate.

I don't want my daughter disguising herself as a Gypsy in the caldereros. I don’t want Gypsy children at my daughter’s school to dress up as Gypsies in caldereros. Because being a gypsy is not a disguise. Because being a gypsy is not a party that takes place once a year, with... [+]

This weekend I've been thinking about the word 'aesthetic' in relation to a phrase said by a friend: “This work is aesthetic.” I have studied the etymology of the word aesthetic, it seems that its meaning was originally perceived through the senses, and it was later associated... [+]
The other day in Bilbao, I met a friend at the Bira bar. We were very happy at the Tar and I said: “Of course, since you’re Guipúzcoa, hahahaha.” And he insisted that he was not Guipuzcoan. Without me understanding it, I kept saying, “Ah! Is it not? You were born in New... [+]
