It was time! That was the first thing we thought when we heard about the book. It was time for horticulture to develop in the broadest sense possible in this regard with an orderly Basque book that talked about it.
We have long followed Jakoba’s strict tone and hoped to find a similar tone in the book. But when you take the first grain, you've satisfied us with a point of surprise. In fact, in this book, the tone is sweet, quiet, mature and rich. Maybe the long list of friends in the early pages has something to do with that.
In any case, whoever takes the book in his hands will find a rich model of horticulture, a part of our wisdom. In the cultural deposit behind the garden you will be able to learn about many of the tricks, languages, thoughts and concepts of many of our unknown peasants. On the one hand, the basic knowledge of ecological horticulture appears in a simple and illustrated way. On the other hand, it has interesting base vegetable chips, about the nature, care and needs of each plant, in decent Basque, which can be consulted at any time.
So this reader enjoys the book, but mostly lives the orchard, puts his hands on the ground and fills the fingernails of the earth. Try the vegetable garden for a year and if you like you will find a healthy drug for a lifetime.
If you buy Bizi Baratzea in Argia, you can pick up the book with
a few words signed by Jakoba Errekondo.Tambi in the talks that the author gives from village to village (see in the
next column where and when) you have the opportunity to get it signed.
