In one of the seven hills of Rome, in Kirinale, remains have been found of a 2,600 year old house that could change what was previously thought about the structure and urban development of Rome.
The importance of the finding lies in two reasons, according to the Superintendence for Cultural Property of Rome, which is in charge of excavation tasks. On the one hand, the traces are in a very good state; in Rome the remains of the time before the Republic are relatively scarce and, therefore, “they have a great value, as this is the first time we have found traces of the archaic era in the center of Rome”.
