Wounds are open
- The political conflict that has been experienced in Euskal Herria in recent decades has caused victims of all kinds. The Human Rights Observatory brought together several victims of states at the end of 2014 to make their suffering visible and bring them to a conceptual map. It brought together in groups victims of the dirty war, family members of prisoners and tortured to share feelings and make them visible in society.
We interviewed the parents of Kattu Ramón Oñederra, killed by the GAL, Pruden Oñederra and Arantza Bergara. We have also brought the testimonies of Oihana Barrios, a psychologist who has thoroughly investigated torture and torture Iker Moreno. Izaro Arruarte, imprisoned with her brother and her partner, travels along the 2,000 kilometer Almeria–Paris line with a 19-month-old boy.
It has been Xuban Intxausti who has revitalized the visibilization of the experiences of these victims: removing the ones they have inside to the table, taking them to the paper and then turning them into conceptual maps. The initiative helped them explore the interior and share experiences. In addition, according to Intxausti, “it is very important to socialize suffering” and on that they have worked for months in various media. At a time when there is more talk of victims than ever before, there are still many citizens suffering. Through specific people, he wanted to offer a pinch of his situation in this LARRUN.
