The publication is from the time when “too much” of Galego was translated: May 1991. Specifically, on May 17, Day das Letras Galegas. Each year, with this date, the day of the lost authors is celebrated, remembering that in 1863 Rosalía de Castro published the Galician Cantares. Let us focus on ourselves: Shipwreck poems: poems arrived in Galician. With the 27th issue of the literary magazine Susa I present a volume. Poems translated into prison by Joseba Sarrionandia. Xosé Estévez and Iñigo Aranbarri will find the originals and prepare an edition with a small fiche for each author. And the entrance to Koldo Izagirre. Bilingual, Galician and Basque. Eight poets, sixteen poems in total.
They're poets. Manoel Antonio, Luis Amado Carballo, Álvaro Cunqueiro, Aquilino Iglesia Alvariño, Luis Pimentel, Luis Seoane, Celso Emilio Ferreiro, Manuel María. With some exceptions (e.g. Cunqueiro, Universal Literature! ), poets who are only here in Basque. Of course, all men. But it's not just a problem that reflects this anthology. Each year, on May 17, the controversy is renewed. Day das Letras Galegas, over fifty editions, and three are the women honored: Castro's Rosalie himself, of course, would be ugly. Francisca Herrera Garrido, 1987. And in 2007, María Mariño – who, incidentally, was related to the Basque Country – was involved. The eight of Anthology have already been honored (well, Manuel María will be the writer of 2016). And recognizing the work of satire of poets interested in Galician poetry – Gabriel Aresti, Koldo Izagirre, Itxaro Borda – for using the term Iratxe Retolaza – if not the sample, the time to enrich the canon. Compared to the eight classics of Anthology, would the presence of classics such as Luisa Villalta, Xela Arias, Chus Pato, even younger, María do Cebreiro not be necessary among the living? Because otherwise, we need anthology, the contemporary Catalan Poet has its line. Because it's not about destroying what has been done so far -- we're trying to destroy what little has been done -- it's about reviewing it, amplifying it, improving it -- and we're doing it, not just from gender, in other directions. Example of translation into Basque by Lois Pereiro.
I've ever read that literature that has a poetry developed on other genres -- and who knows what it is -- is a subsumed literature -- and who knows what it is. Seeing the most jealous, I find it more a sign of the vitality of a literature. Wherever it is possible to be enriched with new contributions without interruption.
