On January 25, 2004, the robot Opportunity started working on the surface of Mars. He first saw the crater named Arrano and then went through the rocks of the Victoria Crater.
In recent times, Opportunity has been located in the Endeavour crater of the Dortmund company. According to NASA, during the eleven years it has been on Mars the robot has traveled the distance of a marathon (42,195 kilometers). This is the longest distance ever traveled by a robot outside Earth, and to celebrate it, the American space agency has released eight minutes of video. You can see pictures of four cameras located in Opportunity, as well as panoramic views of the surface of Mars and the barriers the robot encountered along the way.
Nasa has reported that the robot is in good condition, although it still has some computer problems, namely memory. He says that he erases every night what he has collected, but that is not serious while he previously transmits it to Earth.
