Giotto di Bondone (1267-1337), better known as Giotto, was one of the main artists of the Renaissance. Apparently, his self-portrait was going to be present everywhere, but the experts have not been able to identify in his frescoes the face of the artist. According to the chronicles of the time, despite being ugly Giotto, he managed to fall in love with a beautiful woman and had many children, almost as ugly as his father if he listened to Dante Alighieri. The exact number is unknown, except that at death there were six survivors.
Once, a noble from Florence went to make a commission to Giotto's workshop. When the multitude of children received him, he asked the painter “Who are they, teachers, all these children?” “They are my children, sir,” he replied. “Everyone? It seems impossible.” Then Giotto said: “Sir, I paint day and stem night.”
