Information on corruption has also been published recently in Euskal Herria. It cannot be compared, at least in economic terms, with the situation that has become apparent in the Spanish State. But Euskal Herria is not an island in the field of corruption, there are the litigation that is accumulating in the courts. In all of them, public money is the protagonist: they have stolen it, acquired it, captured it, misappropriated it… Hundreds of millions of euros can be “vaporized”, as if the political managers and their parties had fallen into corruption. Almost all aspects are dotted out: In the case of De Miguel, for example, and in hiriko, Epsilon and Kutxabank, there are charges close to the PNV and the PSE, among others. The pp has also been soiled with the headquarters of Bilbao and with the San Antonio and Iradier Arena buildings of Vitoria-Gasteiz. In Gipuzkoa we have the case of Bidegi, which has affected the PNV in its entirety, in Lasarte-Oria the case of the mayor of the PSE Urchuegia, and in Navarre the fraud of Osasuna, and, of course, the waste of Caja Navarra.
More than 80 people are being investigated in these cases and the situation may be aggravated by public opinion, as we will soon enter into electoral competition. There may be a danger that all these alleged scams will be used on a partisan basis. For the common good, and above all for the achievement of a transparent administration, it is necessary to investigate in depth what has happened and to debug responsibilities in cases of prevarication, codone, influx traffic, money laundering, fraud in the public administration and in procurement, falsehood in business documents and price variation in public tenders and auctions.
We need to know whether the money that has been used has been used by the investigators or whether there are others involved, whether physical or legal. Have the political parties brought any benefit? Above all, however, these hundreds of millions of euros must be found and returned to the public coffers. No gambling with public money. And let everyone do themselves!
