Anne Sexton (Massachusetts, 1928-1974) rhetorically asks the continent. The muse of confessional fiction, a naive madman who put words into the casings, has reinstated adjectives to depressions.

Anne Sexton brought some menstrual literature and drugs and got recognition of the wave of her time. It was not, in this sense, another cursed writer. He tested the honey – and the bitter – of the prizes, especially with the Pulitzer of Poetry, in 1967, with the book Live or Die.

More ceremonious and predictable than Plath, Sexton brought the security of classic American poets to the lyrical of the time of doubt and managed to make politics without resorting to ideological categories. I just had to teach things. The reader thus becomes a cry of Sexton: “The woman has put her heart in maceration./ He has been torn off,/ and for being burned/ as last action/ refreshed with water in the river”.

Harkaitz Cano himself has also become the wavelength of a famous writer in a well-chosen anthology. The Donostiarra has written that he is made a beautiful summary of Sexton's death: “Cougar stood in front of the red car steering wheel and ignited the engine. But not only the motor -- and this detail is not bleak -- but also the radio. Anne Sexton's terrible final's theatricality sums up her life. The addiction, the protective skin of a mother who is also a daughter, the joy of speed, the radio to cover the voices of her head.” The chorus of fluttering voices is perfectly heard in this anthology. Cano is barely heard. And we see clearly the unconscious imitation of God hated by Sexton. God himself is his great love, his anger and his strong denunciation. The poet teaches us all the world, the ugly things and the great things, and without saying it directly, everything is ephemeral, you feel that everything is ephemeral. The truth is that we are enjoying the collection, they are looking forward to some readings that excite us. And in particular, a lot has been written about Sexton, and Sexton's writings have been published here and there, but now at least we can say: we have this jewel in Basque.
