Although in our country we have a great tendency to mystify the 1980s, the 1990s was more plural and productive. And among the many styles worked there stands, for example, the imaginative evolution experienced within the hardcore. Proof of this was Bermeo’s Münsterland team, although it cannot be highlighted anywhere. Joining another style and sensitivity to the hardcore environment, he was a reference in words, melodies and rhythm changes, a group that had neither known mother nor father and that culminated with his album El Colgado. Later, his singer, José Ramón Riojana, participated in a short period of time at Atom Rhumba in the rock of zingirako, funky and blues. And then he created the Los Paniks group, to be able to undress the rocanrol and give birth to the chatterhouse.

Rioja is a musician and agitator full of surprises and has recently created the La Hora del Primate group in the area of Bilbao, with the collaboration of Black Elf, Capsula, Los Paniks…. The Primat Hour wants to recover the essence of rock and music: improvisation, the liberation of instincts, fun and barbarism. And they get it all.

In her first album, Euskal Primate School, which has been published between Back To The Mono, Politburo Fiasco Record and DDT, Rioja plays the keyboard, and reminds Münsterland both in the personal, nihilists, funny and filmic stories narrated in the way of singing. And the group has a peculiar characteristic, precisely, the special charm that those who dominate the instruments but don't want to play well. It's a wild cocktail, groovie, full of distortions and force, crazy, that achieves an uncontrolled balance. Even though the base is beer, they are able to gather the funky and the punk rock around the table (Ingrid Bergman); Make Up and International Noise Conspiracy (The plague) to make us understand in the same song; in the hole of the psychodelia fall wanting (Common Good); in the whirlwind of beer;

Lovers of madness, rock, rhythm, turbulence and even fainting will find in this primate an ancient salvation. Of course, those who remember the absence of Zen Guerrilla, Make Up, International Noise Conspiracy, Norman, Coltrane, Alice Donut, Nomeansno and company, and those who are fed up with the strength of rock.
