Izeberg's songs are dominated by rock and roll, a violent rock. They touch fast, medium-time rhythms, with intensity. Riff guitars and wild punches appear everywhere. Members of the band play with force and singer Ixak also sings with force. Despite the storm, calm appears from time to time and you can hear some nice melodies.
In general, they sing about their feelings, their reflections and their existential doubts, but they also protest in several songs. The lyrics of several songs have been written by the bertsolaris BEÑAT Gaztelumendi, Jon Martin and Xamoa, among others.
On the first album of these surfaces they have made a dense and fat sound. Ixak Arruti (guitar and voice), Jokin Irastorza (drums), BEÑAT Urteaga (bass) and Antton Aranburu (guitar) are two of the members of the group that are most knowledgeable in the recording, with the help of technicians Arkaitz Carrasco and Haritz Harreguy. The mastering has been carried out by Juan Hidalgo y Erika Renedo. They have all done a good job of production.
Izeberg is from Usurbil (Gipuzkoa). The members of the group themselves presented the group as follows: “With the change of the compass of his team and the implementation of a new style, Izeberg was formed in March 2013 from ice fragments of the Closed Vengeance, Shiver and Blood Membrane groups. Izeberg's first work, Azala, comes from Izeberg's hand, where we put together currents that pushed the iceberg and sang a handful. Mixing salty sounds and sweet melodies, see what we are in the open sea of music.”
Many public actions and applause. “We started in May and have made twenty concerts one after the other; we have made a short break in August, but on average we have made a concert a week,” explained Antton Aranburu. They don't stop. “In this sense we are very satisfied.”
Izeberg has been created by members of the Closed Vengeance, Escalofrio and Mintzoa Blood groups in order to embark on a new path. “The truth is, it’s something very new to us. Ixak Pentecost comes from the heavy metal group, BEÑAT and I are from the Hotzikara group and have classified us as trashcore, and what touches the Odolaren Mintzoa group from Jokin is perhaps what comes closest to the Izerberg style. We come together to do something different and what is heard on the album has come out to us.”
Strong rock. Rough wood. “I don’t know how to call what we do. It is clear that we are influenced by the groups that preceded us. It is true that in our songs there are strong parts, and others more melodic or slightly softer, but it is clear that ours is not pop-rock.”
They've worked the melody well. His intention was to make the recording quickly and loosely. “We made a pretty serious bet. For starters, more than making a mockup, we wanted to make a round disc. We've been in this for several years now, and to put it mildly, we're not going to waste our time. We decided to record well in the study, and in that sense we are very happy.”
The Izeberg Group has started its course and intends to continue in this way, as it is already preparing its second album. Hold on!
