On 2 December, a repulsive concentration was called for in the Sopela fire in Sopela. Those who speak Basque very well, those who are mediocre and those who do nothing but understand it, will be asked to make their point. The difference from a normal day will also be assessed.

On the occasion of the International Day of the Basque Country, on 3 December, Hernani has organized a series of activities that will begin on 29 November and end on 3 December. Under the motto Euskara ari du Hernani, with the aim of promoting the use of language, various agents have gathered in the organization work: AEK, Euskaltegis municipal, all the schools of the locality, the association of Euskera Dobera, Banaiz Bagara, the friends of Berria and the City Hall.

The organizers have explained to the resident association Kaxko and to the Association of Traders and Hosteleros Berriak the intention of 2 December and have asked for their collaboration. They have been well received. With 150 merchants and tabernacles they have talked, one by one, about the act they have organized to promote the Basque country. The same will be required of citizens and traders: that every person make an effort to express themselves in Basque to their extent. The following situations arise: he knows perfectly Euskera, but he tends to Castilian; so, that the Basque keeps him. On other occasions, the Basque does not have a mediocre patience before the Basque speaking; on December 2, on the streets of Hernani, encourage those who are learning Basque to follow in Basque. Anyone who does not do so in Basque can tell his friend or her dependant that he is able to understand him and please speak in Basque. In the street, in the poteo, in the store, in the game… In the Hernani box they will try to do it on December 2.

A group of volunteers will make measurements of these linguistic uses and at the end of the five-day activity cycle they will make the results known.
