I have to accept it, I agree with the statements made by the Mayor of Vitoria to improve the Income Guarantee Income (RGI). In other words, fraud must be tackled and, as far as possible, brought to a minimum. Reforms must be made to deal with inefficiencies, if any. Promote debate to improve the system. I agree.

Similarly, it is quite far from fair play that a party with representativeness in the Basque Parliament is an institution that promotes the People’s Legislative Initiative, especially when this tool is designed to allow citizens to participate in legislative action outside parties.

It is clear what the objective of all this whirlwind is: that all parties should be able to decide on the axis of their political demands and their moral justification. In any case, let them measure with their proposals the model they want to promote and the results and conclusions that can be given.

The system of combating social exclusion in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country is certainly the best in the State and comparable to the most developed models in Europe. This makes our poverty rates lower than in other communities. Is the system worth questioning for its electoral strategy? It is very dangerous to delegitimise the system itself, and that is precisely the message that has been conveyed.
