Where does the name of the Bloody Mary cocktail come from?
María I. The one from England (1516-1558) was nicknamed Bloody Mary (Maria la Sangrienta) for her harsh persecution of the Protestants. But the well-known cocktail of tomato juice and vodka was not baptized in honor of the queen.
