I am writing within a few hours of the results of the referendum held in Scotland. The results have been very significant – as always –. On the one hand, because of the high participation – around 85% of the registered population. Moreover, the answer to the question is also noteworthy: A 44.7% in favor of independence and a 55.3% against independencia.Se can make a
lot of readings and interpretations, of course, but there are some ideas that have called me attention n.Por
a part, it is clear that it has won the 'no' to independence, but not at all as it was thought when it was decided to do the referendum. Then a much broader outcome was expected – perhaps that is why they would have accepted it, I do not know. It is also clear that throughout the campaign blackmail and fear have been used to weaken the independence position, particularly in the other side of the economy mico.Por, it is clear that favourable
results have to rethink the future of the United Kingdom: “From now on nothing will be like before,” said David Cameron. It is clear, and I believe that this has also had a major impact on the campaign: Scotland has gained broader self-government, if what it promises is fulfilled, of course.
However, I would highlight the following aspects:
– The political error that many accuse Cameron of asking the Scottish people is nothing more than accepting the sovereignty, dignity and freedom of the people and the citizens.
– The normality that has been experienced since the decision of the referendum, both in the political and in the social sphere, without any profound breakdown, with the participation of prestigious citizens who have supported the yes or no, with complete peace of mind.
– The right to self-determination in Europe should not be limited to “colonized” peoples alone. – The right of a sovereign people to leave a state has
been recognised within Europe, although it, as you can see, is still taboo in Spain. This should give the Spanish authorities and other politicians what they think; what has been approved in the United Kingdom should be acceptable here, if the conditions are the same.
– The conditions are very similar: in both Euskal Herria and Catalonia there are peoples, social and political bodies, who want to talk about it, who want to express the link they want to maintain with Spain or the rupture they want to carry out. Cameron said giving the voice to the Scottish people was fair. So here too we have to make the right decision.
– Sovereignty is to speak, not so much the result of the referendum. The majority of the Scottish people have said no to independence, but that people have taken a great step towards their freedom. And it will, of course.
Comments: (1) While I was writing these ideas, I learned that Alex Salmond, who made the referendum possible, is going to leave office as Prime Minister of Scotland. It is a smart and noble decision. But it does not leave Scotland in any way, as it was when it took office. Scotland and, above all, the Scots, are now freer than they were then.
And (2), before anything happens, I've decided to send this article.

Many times, after looking at the brumas from my house, it has occurred to me not to catch umbrellas, even though I know I will just soak up. Why will it be? Maybe you don't want to catch the umbrella? Maybe in the hope that I don't get wet? Nevertheless, the conclusion has always... [+]
I remember when I was 16 years old, the Ertzaintza first identified me in a concentration in favor of the Basque Country before the Bergara courts. We believed that in Euskal Herria it was legitimate to cry for the Euskaldunization of the courts, but then there would also be a... [+]
