Two doors have been closed in Catalonia and opened one last Friday and Saturday. The first of them was closed with the appearance of Jordi Pujol in the Parliament of Catalonia on the 26th. His case has become a shadow that will follow Pujol for a long time, as will follow the old CDC, but surely in a small space, as the new CDC is managing to surround the elderly's environment with a protective wall. Pujol himself gave the witness to Mas in the construction of the new CDC, but the sovereign movement has fixed it or, perhaps, as Enric Juliana says in La Vanguardia, the newly created “Party of the Masses”.
The other door that closes is the one that has been followed by the sovereign movement so far, when the 9N referendum has been called. They come to their little Maltzaga. And now what? Now there are two great question symbols. As far as Spain is concerned, great surprises are not expected in the short term: on the surface, it will continue with the midwife of the ban. On the other hand, with one eye on the meat, good preparation of the rich carrot from the federal state in the medium term of two years can be key in the PP-PSOE roadmap. Among the Madrid offers, in the coming weeks and months it is very likely that the impact of the future armour of the Catalans in the linguistic, educational and economic fields will increase. In any case, it seems hard to do anything serious until 2016. 2015 is the year of the elections: in May the municipal elections and at the end of the year the Spanish general elections. Pp and Mariano Rajoy have focused on that forum and are aware that repeating the absolute majority we have at the moment will be impossible or difficult. The most significant proof of this is the withdrawal of the Abortion Act, which confirms abortions. From the point of view of the State, a very dangerous situation is being created in Catalonia, but not so bad in that of the party, because at the end of the day Catalonia is doing well to cover the economic and social situation and, better still, to increase Spanish nationalism in the face of the elections.
PRESIDENT. — The next item is the joint debate on the following motions for resolutions: So far they have had three keys to making the way: the first, the impulse of the non-Spanish; the second, the putting of the social initiative at the head of the process, transferring the parties to that stream; and the third, the union of the sovereign parties until the decree calling for the referendum.
Spain has already launched the response machine. Pending the decision of the Constitutional Court, which is prolonged, the Consultation Act and the Consultation Decree will be suspended on a provisional basis. Will the sovereign movement currently presiding over Mas continue with the preparations for the consultation? How long? To continue with the same campaign is to go against the orders of Madrid and therefore enter into disobedience? Or disobedience would be to put polls? In the coming days we will see the first responses.
All the forecasts indicate that, in a state of prohibition, it would be a slide for independence consultations rather than a pit. From there is going into the world of quinielas. The independentists and the Spanish State, for their part, will collapse above the flames of the A-9 fire and the flames will already cause the first burns. For example, what attitude will ICV end up showing towards the ban? Will CDC/ERC go together to an early election? Will it create an electoral offer between the Constituent Process, Guanyem and the Cup...? The only certainty is that, once a door has passed, the road to the second will be much more tense.
To achieve secession, UPV/EHU professor Asier Blas stated that maintaining and increasing tension between the State of origin and the one seeking it is key in an interesting conference on independence on the occasion of Light Day (video). For the time being, in Catalonia, an increase in tension has been guaranteed between the two countries. At the same conference, the former deputy of Amaiur Iñaki Antiquity, even more so looking at the Basque Country, gave importance to everyday actions on the road to independence. In Catalonia, tension and daily life have already become one at this time.
Walk from a train station, two friends and a hug. This hug will be frozen until the next meeting. I'll come home, he'll stay there. There, too, will be free the painful feeling that injustice wants us to catch. Jesús Rodríguez (Santa Coloma de Gramenet, 1974) is a journalist,... [+]
