Based on the Argia community, we laid the first stone on 27 September in Usurbil, in the Argia Eguna, with the project that we want to continue to build among all. We present a program full of activities, all of them prepared around a philosophy, and throughout the day we have had our friends, colleagues, the readers and the values of our house in mind: territoriality, parity, participation, vasquism, sustainability… “Many small people, doing small things in small places, can change the world,” said Axier López, co-worker, at the beginning of the day, referring to a letter from Fronton.

Founded in 1919 as Zeruko Argia, it has gone through many steps and is adapting to these times immersed in new technologies. But the steps that we're taking along this road are not only what we want to decide on today among those of us who are Argia, but the reader and the subscriber are the strength of our project. We want to be transparent with Argiazalea and make him feel part of the project to create a sound and independent media among all. In this sense, on September 27 we organized in Usurbil the Day of Light, a meeting point of all the Argiazale, one day in the values of the Light. Not by chance in Usurbil, since before Argia Eguna was made in that same locality. Even then the friends of Argia de Usurbil were not far away, and we honored the team and started the bright Saturday. But, although repeatedly, in the actions, we wanted to translate these objectives into practice; in the model we represent from those values we demand, we have had the opportunity to live for a day. Valuing things made from a young age, thinking global and acting small.

Come on!

The Plaza Dema de Usurbil became a meeting point for a whole community, wanting to build a common project among all; but the creation of an increasingly wider and diverse community is also part of that project. It's not easy. It's the struggle of all time. But we think we have to put the forces there, and today we want to do it together with those who are part of our community, of course. We want to run away from the telephone “customer search” and get to the place, be there, know the reality of each place and act from it, in one way or another, depending on the location. We are eager to help, to collaborate, and all the darpidites in Argia, as the verb conjugation by Kike Amonarriz says on the humor desk of Argia Eguna.

But Light Day 2014 is not yet another milestone. As yesterday, the day will also be cleared tomorrow and work must continue. We have done no more than lay the foundation for a new process, and then there is hard work; every week we will continue to distribute the best contents to our readers, and with them we will take the leap to the villages, to the neighbourhoods, to the associations, to organize things together, to launch projects. But let us not neglect what was sown on Day of Light; let us see in successive images what gave the day.
