Summer is a special time for information. This year's has not been an exception. It's almost the same. It can be said that it has been more profound than on other occasions, at least, that we have heard more serious events. Negative or negative events: wars, viruses, murders, political clashes, serious frauds... That's what I said: that's what I always did. But this year, on my holidays, in the face of these events, I have made another thought: general and pessimistic.
In the most repeated news, in the most commented events, in the news that has attracted my attention, I have found common features, which I had already noticed, of course, and one of them, I would like to stress: more than in human associations, people are organised in private clubs. Clubs, after all, are only associations of people with common interests or objectives. But the identity of clubs does not end there. Private clubs have mandatory requirements, in particular the timely payment of the quotas to be fixed and compliance with the coexistence rules to be adopted. In exchange for this, they offer their partners the advantages of being a society or a closed space, have the support of the club if necessary and maintain a “margin of security” with other associations and people. However, not all clubs are at all the same, but they are at very different levels and functioning.
Well, that's the common feature that I've perceived in the most powerful events this summer: that humans have organized themselves into private clubs. Look if you don't:
– For the Ebola virus: I don’t know exactly how many people are infected in Africa and how many die each day; some of them, very few, are from the Northwest, that is, born or resident in the Northwest. Well, the affected countries have been rescued as soon as they know their pollution, transferred to the north-west of the country and tried to try to save them. Who knows what money has been spent for it, but if something has become clear to me, it has been that your great club will help you if there is interest, but, even if it is hard, you will not care about the members of your other association who are in the same situation as you. This has happened with two Spanish missionaries: The Government of Spain decided to repatriate them “by forgetting” the other missionaries of their religious order and the citizens of Liberia. That is to comply well with a club’s obligation.
– The story of people who want to come from Africa to Europe is still there, unable to overcome a barrier, trying to enter a fine club, paying too much for it. But as our club is very private and exceptional, the entrance is not free, nor optional: it has been bad luck who was born away and with another color of skin and very poor.
– There are also people who are members of a very fine club, but, alas!, who have “forgotten” to pay the corresponding fee. Or those who think they have an unconditional right to belong to the club, except those who will pay common expenses to the other members of the club club.Estos do not need the club: they are the club and everyone else, their servants. Mr Pujol, what kind of club do you want to be?
– There are also people who want to organise new human groups and cannot. To see what is created in Catalonia and in the Basque Country; to see if we form real human associations rather than private clubs.

We live in a context in which anti-feminist and racist hate speech at the global level is on the rise. Far-right narratives are inserted throughout the world by
social networks and political agendas. Racism and anti-feminism have become two great discursive axes that adapt to... [+]
Many times, after looking at the brumas from my house, it has occurred to me not to catch umbrellas, even though I know I will just soak up. Why will it be? Maybe you don't want to catch the umbrella? Maybe in the hope that I don't get wet? Nevertheless, the conclusion has always... [+]
I remember when I was 16 years old, the Ertzaintza first identified me in a concentration in favor of the Basque Country before the Bergara courts. We believed that in Euskal Herria it was legitimate to cry for the Euskaldunization of the courts, but then there would also be a... [+]
The disaster caused by the cold drop in Valencia has left us dramatic images, both because of the immediate consequences it has had, and because the future awaiting us has brought us forward: that this type of extreme climate phenomena will be increasingly numerous and serious... [+]
The update of the Navarra Energy Plan goes unnoticed. The Government of Navarre made this public and, at the end of the period for the submission of claims, no government official has explained to us what their proposals are to the citizens.
The reading of the documentation... [+]
Since the disappearance of the Soviet Union, rusophobia has been growing. The concept of security of the UN Security Council of 2002 is very clear and indicates that the security and stability of the planet must depend on the states that do not intend to challenge the United... [+]
Andoni Urrestarazu Landazabal was born in the village of Araia on 16 July 1902 and died in Vitoria on 21 November 1993. It is now 31 years old and I think it is time to recognize his name and be, because the legacy he left is not well known. Umandi used the name of a mountain in... [+]
Autobiography writing is, they say, the most effective tool for personal development, the most liberating. Pulling things away from the past and remembering them, it seems that it helps unleash the knots of the present. Yes, it helps to understand the present and to draw a... [+]
I have done a review from the announcement of the pandemic to the tragedy in Valencia and have concluded that the disastrous institutional management that lies and forupe as firewalls is constant of the ruling class.
We do not have a valid substitute ruler as long as this... [+]
November 19 is World Bathing Day. Even today, in the twenty-first century, many workers here in the Basque Country do not have the right to use the toilet in their working days. Many transport workers are an example of this.
Toilets are the key to public health and play a... [+]
The survival of the Basque country is not the only problem that the Basques play in the political game, but rather, as a more characteristic element of Euskaldunisation, the one that most reflects our situation. It shows very well what does not appear so much in other areas... [+]
We know that artificial intelligence is representing many fields in human beings: comfort, speed, efficiency ... We've been led to believe that human endeavor is an obstacle to the speed needs of this capitalist world. The aggressions to reduce our chances of doing, doing and... [+]
In recent weeks it has not been possible for those of us who work in architecture that the climate phenomenon of Valencia has not been translated into our work discourse. Because we need to think about and design the path of water in decks, sewers, plazas and building parks. We... [+]
Self-esteem sometimes seems intimate. But if self-esteem is about the image that you have of yourself, about the value that you give yourself, you'll also have to see the decisions that you can make. What value does someone who can't decide have? So we start to look at our mother... [+]
The Sanmartines are well known in our homes, as it is time to kill the pig. However, many people will not know that before St. Martin's day marked the end of the agricultural year. And that was no nonsense. In fact, at the end of the year, I had to pay an annual rent to my... [+]
