This is not a classic summer reading recommendation, to take it to the beach quickly with the towel. But there is a proper reading for the summer, insofar as it requires immersion with total attention and tranquility. When we talk about the book Antton Lukuren Libertitzeaz, what are we talking about? For me, there is a book and a lot in Libertitzea: on the one hand, the attempt to locate and understand the paths linked to the tobe, to libertism, to carnival, the desire to define the Basque art (concept that covers all forms of representation, including the verse, dance or singing), the proposal to connect the stage expressions that have been given in Euskal Herria with the tradition and the others. But, on the other hand, there is something that starts from the author's biography, the desire to reflect on paper what is felt in the flesh itself, beyond the cold ones, as theorization that arises out of experience. Lukuk has carried out an exercise of personal and theatrical transmission, inevitably collective, without concealing the contradictions that emerged throughout his career, showing the lights of his old words, claiming the meaning of the naughty… in short, an attempt to connect new questions to the question “why do theatre?”. Put it now, reader, instead of "the theater," any other word that relates to culture, and you'll also be excited by this book. This is the hallmark of transmission that Lukuk has published, with a theatrical impulse from the point of view of writing, a sting and a hindrance.
