In the 1990s, punk/heavy dichotomy had exploded until then, and freer creation started running a lot more streams. Fermin Muguruza and the work group of the label Esan Ozenki did a great job in detecting and disseminating these new proposals. Driven by a special, small and strong voice girl, Kashbad, who drank from the Jingo groups of Lunch and Bad Brains, was one of them newly fired.
After acting live with groups such as Negu gorriak, Banda Bassotti or Radio Bemba, they reached the end of the egin Txotx competition in 1996. That same year they published a album called Kashbad (esan Ozenki). Hardcore and reggae, the result was a success, among others, the Singel Hegaz. In 1997, he became a one-guitar quartet and became Urrutia (Esan Ozenki). By then the speed was already reduced a bit and they took the intensity, although still from time to time the reggae was kept, open beyond the hardcore. In 1999, while they were writing the songs for their third album, Gorka was arrested, and when he was imprisoned, the band's future was staggered, but Karlos Osinaga, from the Lisabö group, was joined and published Hesak (esan Ozenki). By then, the toughness and darkness of the post-rock were already internalized by the group, as well as the intensity. After Gorka's return, the team dismissed in the short term. The group was immersed in other projects (Sorkun, Fermin Muguruza, Peiremans+, Lau Itzal, Trumbo…). Kashbad met in 2007 to offer just three concerts.
Now the group returns with Arrakala (Bonberenea ekintzak) and they have performed dozens of performances. The album, composed of nine themes, has had a good atmosphere and style, but all have the seal of the band. Engraved with Karlos Osinaga, a former travel companion, the result is very worked and pampered. The Malabares, powerful riff, almost rolled up, opens the job and with Sorkun's voice as the protagonist, has many rhythm games. Aita urrea reminds me of Quotsa, a very open stoner or a hard rock, very elegant, of great style. The Arrakala is a hit for Spotify, a beautiful, powerful piece that is born with sweetness and grows intensely. We'll rest whispering the sideral mud.
