Without the war of 1936, a hundred years in solitude no?
I will never read One Hundred Years in Solitude again. If you're not going to go back to the places where you were happy, then I'm not going to get closer to Macondora. It is better not to know the myths personally, just in case... You don't have to recover the relationships with the books that fascinated us at the age of 16. Anyway, we wouldn't be the same without reading that book.
How to say it. Once read, we look at the world in a more silly way, and I think it's not been bad. A hundred years without publishing in solitude, the world would be a gray and sad place. It can therefore be said that this book has improved the world, albeit to a small extent. However, Gabo was about to stop writing the novel because he did not find a good start, as the characters did not come to his head and had no money to meet the needs of the day: his two children and his wife, but without income. He had to engage his car and his belongings in order to be able to keep writing, immersed in the mad race against the clock, aware that the poverty of his family was worsening, but without being able to abandon his damn function.
The help of his friends was decisive, literally, and for the sake of literature. Among them, Jomi García Ascot and María Luisa Elio were the closest, taking care of the children of Gabo and providing the García-Márquez family with the means of life of the day. As you know, One Hundred Years in Solitude is dedicated to this couple.

And the world would be worse or worse. Maybe.
