Gift with ARGIA from 'Bertsoak who have torn the way'
- The first known bertso dates back to 1885, and since then, we gather through the bertsos the path traveled by women to this day. Knowledge can give them back their rightful place.
The book you will receive with the number of February 9 is a collection of verses. That's the criterion that I've used in the election: because they're the first Bertsos that are known, because in 1918 he sang them up to the table in popular food, because he responded to the bertsolari that they considered god, because he was the first Bertso singing in the championship, because they're the greetings of the champions, because they've staged the issues... The verses placed predominate -15 games, one of them 8,-, which indicates the possibility of working on the themes in depth. And we are glad that in the “Bertso Berriak” section of Argia we have found a lot of items for the collection.
We have tried to recover the bertsolari from behind the bertsos and explain the context through short texts and photographs. It is worth knowing the life of Joxepa Matea Zubeldia Elizegi and through her verses to know the battle that women fought in Hernani. Or he realizes that Xenpelar is the name of two bertsolaris, since Joxepa Aranberri was a factory worker and Petri bertsolari (born in 1865). Many have been excluded from the books – references such as “women bertsolaris infames” or “singing with the daughter of the neighboring house”, but their name and verses are
no more. How many verses have been burned? They have hardly been given any place in the orally transmitted collective memory. This book, in its simplicity, aims to collect the testimony of what they have always been and to make known their life and their verses.
How are we?
What has hurt us the most is to pass a narrow comb to this time when there is more bertsolaris. Rich in matter and number, the first blow. However, in the search, it is observed that almost all are individual works (both in verses placed and in the plaza). Women have entered the stage separately and for the first time have worked on issues individually. It's not easy to imagine dialectics, pluralities, contradictions. Apart from the general trend of the plaza, there are performances that have been worked together (Kabareta, Ez da casualidad...) and activities (Azkizuko Topaketak, bertso eskola feminista..). We have also taken up these initiatives. On the other hand, it is young people who dedicate themselves to the scenarios and are yet to win the themes and visions of adult age.
