Marcel Proust's masterpiece didn't want to be published.
In November 1913, Marcel Prousten À la recherche du temps was first published Du côté de chez Swann, the first part of the perdu series Du Côté de chez Swann. In fact, the book was completed by the French writer in September 1912, but it was rejected by the editors Fasquelle and Ollendorff, as well as by the writer André Gide. In 1947 he received the Nobel Prize in Literature, and Gider repented of his decision and wrote a letter expressing his forgiveness and regret. It is now envisaged that the draft letter will be sold at auction and that in return it will be worth between EUR 100,000 and EUR 150,000.
