In the war in Libya we were sold many lies, among other things, in a theater play recorded in Qatar in which we were shown that the “rebels” had taken over Tripoli. Manipulating is part of a war, so the “truth” is the first victim of wars. Therefore, propaganda and fraud are not the problem, the problem is the behavior of most media, echoing certain information, false or real, concealing or silencing others.

Thus, they serve the United States and Western countries, becoming essential pawns for the political use of the media agenda.
For example, in early July 2011, Libya's chief deputy minister denounced that Colombian mercenaries were fighting at the service of the "insurgents". Of course, the service was paid by the United States, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The news had no media coverage, but months later, when Gaddafi was murdered on October 20, 2011, they showed us the videos that hung on Youtube with their shameful execution. In those videos you can hear the perfect Spanish of Colombia during the murder of Gaddafi, but of course that detail was not commented on by the usual media either. Like another silenced or discarded news. The Qatari Government publicly stated that hundreds of its military fought for the "rebels" in Libya, that is, a foreign power invaded the country without any declaration of war. According to international law, such a fact should be first-rate news, but it was once again silenced or relegated by the media.

On 21 August 2013, a tweet from the Syrian opposition was enough for the media to open the news with a supposed chemical attack by the Syrian Government. We were shown Youtube videos, not to mention that more than one of them was uploaded on the Internet before the date of the reported aggression. However, they did not show us the videos presented by the Syrian Government in which allegedly opposition members used chemical weapons in the area. The Syrian Government had long complained that the insurgents had chemical weapons in Saudi Arabia and were using them, so it presented as evidence the chemical weapons allegedly seized from the insurgent guerrillas. However, there have also been other versions and testimonies about what has happened. Some commented that the alleged aggression was an accident of the insurgents, but this version has also had a small impact, according to the same source. The same has happened with the statements of an Italian journalist kidnapped for five months, who claimed to have heard the insurgents who had committed the chemical attack to violate international military intervention.

Who was harmed and who favoured the reported chemical attack? The red line drawn by Obama to intervene militarily against Syria was the use of chemical weapons and it was precisely when the UN inspectors came to Syria to denounce the attack. Interestingly, they were invited by the Syrian Government and, as soon as they hit Syria, the Syrian Government itself makes a chemical attack, according to the same sources. Critical reflection is the most effective way of dealing with manipulations. However, we do not know what the truth is, only that people are killing thousands in the Syrian war and that external intervention is being fundamental to maintaining this war.
