Leave her alone when the child cries?
I find it curious to see an adult crying, after seeing the time and responsibility that their environment devotes to protecting themselves and trying to reassure themselves, to be in front of the parents in which their children are crying and disregards them. Curious and hard, very hard.
Children, and especially the little ones, do not cry on whim. They cry because they have a need and the way to communicate it is crying. Usually hunger, thirst, cold, heat, dirty package, hunger, sleep, need for mime, pain, need for protection, need for physical contact or any other reason, and if they are not able to meet that need, it is normal to ask for help. We cannot expect them to send us an email or an sms with their requests.
Crying is a basic instrument of communication, and for communication to work, the receiver of that crying should listen, analyze and satisfy the need for that crying. When mothers who breastfeed, when they hear their newborn baby cry (or something more greedy – I have what they are about to do the year – they put their breasts in pain and start secreting milk. This automatic response has also been seen in other species.
In recent years, however, voices have been voiced in favour of crying. Those who give these kinds of recommendations say that we will miseducate children, that they will be pampered, that it is nothing but whim, and for these reasons. As if babies had the intention and ability to fascinate adults from birth.
We do not believe that this favours anyone. Neither the child, nor anyone who hears crying. In addition, more and more studies show that the stress caused to babies by crying affects them in the long term (problems of self-esteem, relationship problems, mistrust...). As we have said, babies cry because they have a need, and when they meet that need, they shut up right away. Peace for all. So why let me cry?
