The head of HPS, Patxi Bastarrika, has just said that the Basque Country is certified for three or four generations. Edurne Brouard, for his part, has spaces in the Basque Country, where the Basque Country is about to disappear. They say the same thing, it is a matter of deadlines. The Basque will disappear. The Basque will die on his own, no one will kill him. Or more precisely, we will kill him ourselves, the Basques.

In Euskal Herria, in general, the use of Euskera has decreased. Street and Administration. Here the Basque workers prefer Spanish in non-formal conditions to influence boneless people. In the street, in the transmission, in the use and in the feeding do not correct the magic ointments to sustain our own. And, therefore, it is clear that a language that has been weakened in recent times will tell us goodbye, fleeing to a land that has no return. Or it will hide in a virtual place, like the Christians in the catacombs, and it will only be used there. It will live in a prosaic and despised way by the world. It will move in the speculative field and become the melancholy bed of a few nostalgic, like a wandering dog, as it revolves around what it has done (what it has not done) to deserve that fate. But it will still be a living language, because someone has stepped face-to-face, and the fight awareness itself will prevail to maintain existence. For to continue living the Basque country needs speakers, because without them we would also lose the awareness of our existence. I mean, it's us, because we're told that we're not because we have Castilian in front of us. We do not realize that we have been ourselves, without having to say that we are or are not.

And without consciousness, without militancy and without motivation, Euskera will never be everywhere. I fear, therefore, an independent Basque Country, at a time when we will be a political and administrative one, because we will gradually disappear from the inner load of the backpack that we have on our backs. And then, not only will we do what the habit, the inner instinct or the mind dictates us, but also, without remorse, we will all move to Spanish, because the language that has created us so much, so many problems, struggles and emotions will no longer be harmful to our mental and sentimental health, and because consciousness will be able to live in peace and tranquility forever, as we will speak and live in Spanish.
