We have just seen the data on unemployment in the Spanish State in May. Compared to the previous month, the number of unemployed has decreased by 98,265 people, of which 1,630 are in Hego Euskal Herria, especially in Navarre, with 1,259 less unemployed. In Gipuzkoa the number of unemployed fell by 394 and in Álava by 162. On the contrary, unemployment in Bizkaia has risen again and 190 more people have remained in this situation. The Government of Spain and its media terminals have seen “green outbreaks” immediately and look to the future with optimism. But the reality is stubborn. Two things have to be taken into account. One, that May is a good time of year to create jobs, as the tourism season and some agricultural crops begin then. Two, that agricultural and hospitality employment is the most precarious. In fact, only 7.4 permanent contracts are signed, compared to 100 occasional contracts. And in addition, salaries are very low.
The Bank of Spain is prescribed to increase recruitment with salaries between EUR 400 and EUR 500 which are below the minimum wage (EUR 645.30) and which are not subject to an agreement. The president of the entity, Luis linde, has had the face of making this recommendation, as he receives a salary of more than EUR 13,000 per month. It is the image of the most brutal capitalism to be imposed on politics. Bankers, with millionaire salaries and pensions, are imposing their policies on salaries, mortgages, hiring and pensions; and sometimes they lead to suicide. They impose the socialisation of losses and the privatisation of profits. They have neglected their first obligation: to give credit to companies and families in order to overcome the crisis. If the government endorses this recipe, unemployment will fall, because there are millions of unemployed and the unemployed also have to eat... That is true, at the expense of human dignity and the rights of the workers who have so hard to conquer it. Such bankers should be in jail. Because they're burglars and murderers.
