Jokin de Pedro, who has previously published works of mystery and terror, awaits the Basque readers in this regard. Even more so when it is before a work that bears this title. This

Pedro catches the reader with the agile and living style he uses; the interviews have a great weight; the reflection of the grandson. Moreover, the point of tension that is maintained throughout the novel encourages the reader to move forward. From the cards it has gone to the bomb in a moment, and with it the world of Arriola has changed totalmente.Es
a novel that is read to taste Etsai gordea, but I think the author has not been right in the characterization of Gorospe, because although he is a smart policeman and has his own style, the author of the book has also characterized him in Basque; he is the only book that speaks in Biscayan “Ederto, Gontzal, I’m not going to take you any longer. (…) It’s none, ma’am. What do you want to take?” In other words, it would be more understandable that, like Gorospe, other characters also had some linguistic characterization; we do not know if the story develops in Bizkaia or in other places in the Basque Country.
In any case, and regardless of the theme of language, this work by Pedro complies with the characteristics of the police novels or mystery. Intrigue, many actions, fact-finding, an obstinate inspector… and in the end, information that releases the knot. A curious and accomplished ending that will surprise the reader even though something can be suggested through the novel.
