Pordenone (Friuli, Italy) 1900. The Jacuzzi family decided to leave their hometown to achieve a better life on the other side of the sea. In the United States, seven brothers, in addition to improving their lives, would be able to improve the life of many more than half a century later.
They settled in Berkeley, California, and the older siblings got to work on machine management. Supported by this experience and inspired by an aerial spectacle that took place in the San Francisco area, in 1915 Rachel Jacuzzi started manufacturing propellers for aircraft propulsion. That same year he founded the company Jacuzzi Brothers and launched the successful Jacuzzi Toothpick (Jacuzzi Txotxa) propeller. The first plane plane with a closed cabin was invented, and they had to produce many specimens, as the U.S. postal service had chosen that plane to transport people from San Francisco Bay to Yosemite.
However, in 1921, brother Giocondo died in an accident at the company's planovacar and, in memory of the accident, the company stopped making aircraft. The experience gained in the manufacture of aircraft hydraulic pumps was then used in the manufacture of agricultural pumps. In 1931, the innovative Jacuzzi pump won the gold medal of the US Fair of California, proof of the success of its new business line.
In 1943, at 15 months, Kenneth Jacuzziri was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and, therefore, chronic pain. The son of Candido Jacuzzi started hydrotherapy sessions in a hospital in the area, but the sessions did not alleviate the pain for a long time and could not suffer the girl, his father decided to test the agricultural hydraulic pump in the bathtub of his home. Kenneth's health improved markedly and years later chronic disease did not stop him from assuming the leadership of the company.
With some added adjustments, Jacuzzi launched the bomb in 1955, and in 1968 began producing the tub with the integrated turrusts. Although initially associated with therapeutic use, Hollywood stars made it a luxury, and in the 1970s, coinciding with the modern spa industry, production broke out. Hot tubs owned the company until 1976, as hot tubs were never the company's main production line, but their last name will always be associated with the pleasure of jet baths.
