On 21 February, the police intercepted two workers of the company D2S International on a private plot in Biriatou, who were evaluating the possible vibrations of the new line of the TAV, as they were not allowed to carry out surveys.
The owner of the plot, seeing the two workers of the D2S subcontract of the company RFF, called the police and members of the association against the TAV Nivelle-Bidassoa. In a short time, some twenty people had gathered there to try to hinder the polls. The gendarmes transferred the two workers to the Hendaia police station because they did not have the permits of the Consistorial House and the Prefecture.
The owner and the association Nivelle-Bidasoa filed complaints for “violently going home”. As a punishment, the payment of a symbolic euro and the cancellation of the data from the survey are called for. For their part, the representatives of RFF assured that they had the prefect’s authorization and that the People’s House was aware of it. In this sense, they have pointed out that there may have been a misunderstanding with the technicians.
The event has given rise to the concerns of the groups opposed to the APR, as the RFF announced that it would not launch its verifications after the public utility survey was carried out. This action took place from the second half of 2013 to the present day.
