In May of this year it is planned to launch the new console, the Ouya, on the market. It is a machine financed by the internauts and will allow the free acquisition of games through the network.
In July 2012, in the Kickstarter space for project funding, Ouya's creator Julie Uhrman introduced the idea and said they needed 950,000 dollars. In less than 24 hours, the revenue amounted to EUR 2.5 million. Finally, a total of EUR 8.5 million has been awarded.
The console that works on the Android system will be the size of the Rubik cube. Ouya will connect to the servers and the result will be seen on the home TV monitor as if it were a streaming video, so a fast internet connection will be needed to make it work properly. The games will be the “Free to Play” type currently used in PCs, i.e. the basic game will be free and only characters or added features will be paid.
The console is already on sale and can be booked online for $99
