Obama eta AEBetako sistema kontserbadorea
San Sebastian egunean, ohitura den legez, Barack Obamak bigarren agintaldia hasiko du AEBetako presidente bezala. Iragan azaroko hauteskunde presidentzialetan garaile atera zen berriro, baina, 2008ko hauteskundeetan ez bezala, ez du inolako ilusio berezirik piztu munduko txoko desberdinetan. Izan ere, bere lehenengo agintaldiak ez ditu bete sortutako itxaropen gehienak. Nazioarteko harremanetan agertu duen jarrera ez da aurreko presidentearen oso desberdina izan: ohiko aliantzak (NATO eta Israel) eta mehatxuak (Iran, Ipar Korea...) mantendu ditu eta nahi izan duenean nazioarteko legeak ez ditu bete (Osama Bin Ladenen erailketan bezala). Egia da Iraketik tropak atera dituela eta ez duela herrialderik inbaditu (nahiz eta Libia bonbakatu duen), baina nahi izan balu ere, AEB ez zegoen beste okupazio militar bat burutzeko moduan, nahikoa lan eman diote Afganistangoak eta Irakekoak.
Barne politikan, Obamaren lehenengo agintaldiak lagundu egin ditu gizarteko sektore ahulenak, adibidez, osasun segurua populazio guztira zabaltzeko ahaleginarekin. Rooserveltek sindikatu eta ezkerreko erakundeekin batzartu eta hauen proposamenak entzuterakoan esan ohi zien: “Orain atera kanpora eta derrigortu nazazue egitera”.
