It rains sweetly. Flirting. It’s time to listen to Oskarbi’s new CD. Xirimiri. When I started listening to the early bars, I started to reclaim the tracks of the melodies and the voices that I heard in my childhood, and they come drop by drop, to soak the memory with vocal harmonies. And I come, little by little, to the bases of the Basque folk. To the origins of Oskarbi.El a group that was part of the Ez dok Hamairu movement since 1966, and the most veteran Basque group that is still active, has come a long way that has focused on its

new work, which it has just published. In its day, it formed a group of extraordinary voices and today it continues to maintain that personality original.Una broad

instrumental wealth and, above all, a delicious play of voices that allows them to work alone, as a couple, in threesome and in choirs.

This album, recorded in Elkar de Donostia studios, merges popular songs, traditional pieces never recorded with other compositions and letters of its own creation. Three new poems can be heard on the album. One of them, the classic of Oskarbi Bitoriano Gandiaga, Kuku. Other, J. L. Trekurena, Xirimi's song that titles the CD. And the third, Xabier Lete's, the word Gabon.

We must also highlight the new harvest the Andra Gaztia jaja, which brings joyful melodies. Or popular songs from the Firlan del Norte environment. The

song Ostalierra also has its charm, both in terms of the melody and in terms of the conversation between the wine seller and the buyer.

Along with them, they have recovered two songs from the 15th century. The widow of Zuberoa and Eresia of the Lastur Mile are the echo of the medieval song. All of them give a special mold to the songs of this great musical group.

With the front cover they've come back to their origins. They wanted to recover the essence of their first album, adding raindrops to the image of three circles that sculptor Jorge Oteiza had formed, and in this way, they recreated the image of Xirimiria. The

Oskarbi group, which until now has continued to unite popular songwriters and Basque poetry, is confirmed as one of the clearest models of the Basque folk.
