This is the first work in the juvenile literature by John (or Jon) Andueza, and as you can see in the image of Lander Ayllón, on the front page, we can say it's a story of modern young people or juvenile tribes today. The title is a quote, and those two paratexts seem to be made to attract the reader images and titles on the front page. As you immerse yourself in the inner pages, you see the wager of reflecting the world of these young people; the juvenile language, their everyday stories, the desire to tell the world from their point of view… that is, the work done to make the young reader feel identificado.Este Andueza's first work begins the story with a beginning
of the course: “September 7. It was nine minus four in the morning. Xato got off the bus, half asleep, yawning. It's called Aitor Bergaretxe, but in her newborn, Grandma gave her an amazing sentence.
"You're ugly! It looks like a
mole!” And as you can see, the author addresses the narrative by fleeing from the politically correct. Xato is, therefore, the main protagonist of the story, and throughout the novel all the events that take place in his day to day are recorded, including those related to a beautiful young woman and those that took place as a result of a secret recording. This, the attack suffered by Nerea, will largely mark the second part of the book. To the extent that the first is limited to counting diaries and describing situations, the book generates another rhythm and a curiosity for the recording of the girls in the shower, and for the relationship that Xato maintains with two girls, Pipi and Nerea.El
Saturday in Bukowski this novel has many ups and downs, reflects the language and day to day of the young people and the structure of the chapters, abundant and concise, explains the chapters “Tell the rain”, “Marraketx fuxion”, “Gros and roll”, “Xato’s song”… but,
on the other hand, the argument is quite simple, foreseeable: little development of the characters, it is not seen in these changes as the novel progresses; and the final, happy, does not – I think – correspond to the tone of the novela.Esta novel’s entertaining.
