Marta Cardenas Díaz de Espada (Donostia-San Sebastián, 1944). His father was from León – a doctor – and his mother from San Sebastian. In Deba they met in summer and married in Donostia. Martha, a family of eight brothers, was born there. He studied fine arts in Madrid and studied in Paris. In 1970 he made his first exhibition, directed by Chillida, at the Hutsaga Gallery of San Sebastian. The success of that first stage had accompanied him since then. He loves the cultures of the world, the unlimited paths he sees in them, the living footprints that are thousands of years old. He lives in Madrid, married to the composer Luis de Pablo, and there he learned Basque.
