In a small coastal town, the autumn tranquillity that comes from the accumulation of passenger cars has ended with the disappearance of Aroa López. Police investigations have not been able to find a clear explanation of the case, and the fact that it is not known whether he is dead in that way has caused a great shock between the family and the people.

In the face of this disaster that makes everyone suspicious, the people will try to recover their normal lives. Because in a world where every moment someone is being beaten, you have to go ahead. Will it be a recklessness with regard to what others bear? Or, perhaps, the influence of the belief that “I will not pass” too internalized? In any case, the characters in this novel knew that the frogs in Sarrionandia's tale died, but they could not become victims of an episode of this kind. That is why the name of the new novel by Iñaki Irasizabal, Igelak, in Basque, really dies.

In addition to his ability to invent stories, the writer has demonstrated his knowledge and interest in other areas. Irasizabal's words indicate that he intended to write a novel that could be the showcase of a society: “I think the stories that revolve around crime are a perfect tool to reflect our society.” In this sense, and maintaining the importance of the sociological realm, the book details the limits between police novels and black novels; starting from a crime that shapes the former, it is not limited to reporting the process of a police investigation, presenting a suspicious context in which anyone can be guilty, has wanted to make an analysis of a human group that approaches the black novel and the different reactions; the subjective chronicle of what happened at a given time. In the 113 pages that

are read quickly, we will find short and alternating scenes that make known individual stories of many characters. As it progresses, the open wounds that accompany an unresolved event of extreme gravity are emerging. Leaving behind a painful past, for those who have lost a relative, is not going to be an easy task. When, in search of answers, they try to confuse the private past of others, the initial case will be accompanied by a series of tragic actions. Therein lies the mystery of the novel. Otherwise, a Sunday afternoon and reading without getting too tired.
